The Connecticut Tech Act Project Assistive Technology Loan Program is sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Social Services, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services.
The Assistive Technology Loan Program is a low-interest loan to help you purchase the AT devices or services that you need. All loans must be repaid within five years.
Assistive Technology is any item or piece of equipment, including vehicle and home modifications, which is used to increase, maintain or improve your ability to function in all aspects of life, including school, work and in the community. It could range from inexpensive kitchen gadgets to special controls to help you drive, hearing aids or wheelchairs, communication devices or hands-free access to a computer and much more. Construction work completed on part of a building to make it possible for you to use your device also qualifies as Assistive Technology.
To qualify for the Assistive Technology Loan Program, you must have:
The amount of the loan you receive depends on the price of the AT device or service you need and your financial status.
The Connecticut Tech Act Project also provides information and resources to you regarding Assistive Technology. Our mission is to increase independence and improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through increased access to Assistive Technology for work, school and community living.
